Increase Visibility and Productivity with
Yard Management
Many companies have automated their warehouses, yet still handle yard management using
labor-intensive manual processes, such as writing pads or spreadsheets, to manage hundreds of
inbound and outbound trailers.
As a result, trailer inventory is difficult to access and manage,
and cross-dock opportunities are often lost. Yard management is clearly the next bottleneck to
remove for decreased cost, increased productivity and improved supply chain visibility.
CatalystCommand Yard Management treats the distribution center yard as an extension of the warehouse.
The system optimizes yard, dock and warehouse performance by providing greater visibility into assets
and inventory in trailers parked in the warehouse yards. Yard Management makes warehouse operations
more efficient for both inbound and outbound shipments by improving visibility of expected loads and
trailers and then managing activities between yard gate and dock door.
The system provides real-time access to trailer content early in the distribution process and more
comprehensive trailer management inside the yard.
Yard Management gives you complete control of which loads can be staged at any dock or location and
captures both check-in and check-out information at the gate using a GUI or RF-enabled interface.
Intra-yard trailer moves can be performed via RF or paper-based move tickets. Alerts notify you of
high priority check-ins or trailers waiting for pickup. The system also provides extensive reporting
capabilities including detailed data for load information, movement history, trailer validation,
trailer tracking from arrival to departure, and performance tracking by carrier, dock, and yard
staff.
CatalystCommand Yard Management can operate stand-alone or easily integrate to existing warehouse management and transportation management systems, including CatalystCommand Warehouse
Management and Transportation Management.
